   description:
This station was on a transect across the Savannah River in Screven County, Georgia and Allendale County, South Carolina including the beaches on the right and left banks across the river above Ring Jaw Point. This station was located at Mile 123.1 (formerly Mile 134.5). It was very similar in appearance to Station 5. Sand beaches were present on both banks, and trash piles were present along the steep banks at the outer, or cutting, edge of the bends. (1972 report.) The 1980 report adds: The station was approximately 1.25 mi downstream (southeast) from Johnsons Landing, Screven County, Georgia; Allendale County, South Carolina. A small stream drained a swamp area on the left-bank side and a large backwater was present on the lower right-bank side. (1980 report.) The 1989 report says: This station contained two reaches, an upstream reach with a large backwater on the right-bank side and a downstream reach with a large backwater on the left-bank side.
