On the Auglaize River, Putnam County, this station was located about three miles above the junction with the Ottawa River. It consisted of riffles and pool and slack-water areas very similar to Station 1 except that the riffles were upstream, rather than the downstream, from the pool. The right bank was sloping, while the left was rather steep. Both banks were lined with trees and bushes. The riffles consisted of various sized rocks with water eight to ten inches deep. The pool and slack-water areas had water two to three feet deep on the left bank that gradually became shallower down to a few inches on the right. The bottom had muddy areas along the right bank and intermittent patches of mud throughout the pool. The river at this point had a fairly heavy silt load. No oily odor could be detected in either the water or the mud. (1956 & 1957 reports.) The 1960 report says: The riffles consisted of various sized rocks with water six to ten inches deep. (1960 report.)
