Station 5 was located on the Pocotaligo River at the same road as Station 4 (Graham Church-Brogden Memorial School Road), but Station 5 extended 40 yards downstream and 15 yards upstream from the Northeastern bridge. When th stations were being set an examination of the river at these latter two areas indicated that the condition of the water was not the same, with Station 5 showing evidence of considerably more enrichment than Station 4. Further investigation pointed to Turkey Creek as the probable source of this enrichment. Apparently the meandering channels of the river do not mix freely after they split below Station 2, at least at certain times. For this reason it was deemed desirable to make a study of the condition of the water at each area. (1965 report.)
