   Sabine River, LA, US
      NEON domain: not applicable
   state: Louisiana (LA)
This station, which is the same as that studied in 1952 and 1953, was located a short distance above the bridge of U.S. Highway 90. It was between pilings 55 and 59. Although this region of the river had much less salinity than the downstream stations, it was the nearest point to them that was relatively free of pollution. It was not completely free of the effects of pollution, however, because considerable pollution entered the river from oil fields upstream. It was apparent that the river had recovered from such pollution and the only effects were those of a "recovered" region. (1962 & 1969 reports.)
