Station 4 was located about 3.7 nautical miles below the du Pont outfall, at Light No. 28 approximately 1/4 mile downstream from Bessie Heights Canal. The right bank was composed of soft peat and clay with a small backwater near midstation. Marsh vegetation extended down to the water's edge. The left bank consisted of clay with a small vertical bank in which were three sandy beaches. Both banks dropped off quickly into deep water. (1973 report.) | latitude in decimal: 30.010833
