   Brandywine Creek, PA, US
      NEON domain: not applicable
   state: Pennsylvania (PA)
This station was located just below the point where U.S. Route 322 bridge crosses the East Branch of the Brandywine. The upstream end was just below the bridge and the station extended approximately 50 yards downstream. The creek in this section was 30 to 40 feet wide. At its upper end the left bank was slightly undercut with some grass and roots extending into the water. Below this was a patch of mud and sand grading into some rubble which covered the stream bottom. This was bordered by more mud and sand sloping into slightly deeper water. The stream bottom was rock and sand covered with some algae interspersed with higher plants. The right bank was grassy with some shrubs and vegetation. A few trees were located toward its lower end and a great part of the left bank was tree-lined. (1956 report.)
