Brandywine Creek, PA, US
NEON domain: not applicable
state: Pennsylvania (PA)
This station was characterized by having an upper pool area, a riffle area, and a lower pool area below the riffle. Only that portion (about 1/2) of the pool area adjacent to the riffle was collected in each case. This station was located on the East Branch of Brandywine Creek at Dowlin. This is 1 1/2 miles north of Downingtown on Rt. 282, and at this point a bridge carrying a secondary road crosses the creek about 100 yards to the east of Rt. 282. The station extends downstream from the bridge for about 300 feet, and encompasses pool areas and extensive riffles. Muddy areas are found along most of the right bank and also in the pool areas.
