This station was characterized by having an upper pool area, a riffle area, and a lower pool area below the riffle. Only that portion (about 1/2) of the pool area adjacent to the riffle was collected in each case. the Marsh Creek station was located about 500 feet upstream from its confluence with the East Branch of Brandywine Creek. This is just above the railroad bridge over Marsh Creek, near Dorlan, which is about 2 1/2 miles north of Downingtown on Rt. 282. The creek was about 20 feet wide at this point, and contained habitats comparable with those found at the other stations. (1964 report.)
