| This station was set on the Cooper River in Berkeley County, South Carolina near the downstream end of the tailrace canal from Lake Moultrie. The upstream limit of the station was approximately 200 yards below Stony Landing. The river was approximately 125 yards wide and the station approximately 200 yards long. The right bank was mostly wooded with a few marsh areas. Two small coves were lined with trees. The left bank consisted of marsh with some clumps of small trees. Two channels leading into Wadboo Swamp were located within the station limits. Beds of rooted squatic plants were present at the mouth of each channel, but no rooted aquatics were found along the right bank. (1974 report.) |
