| Location: Immediately upstream from the private power station located a short distance below south Carrollton and near river mile marker 82.2. Description: The right bank of this station was rather steep, tree-lined, with an occasional fallen tree extending out into the river. along most of the bank there was a narrow submerged shelf of hard clay and the river bed dropped off sharply from this shelf. At the lower end of this bank there were two beds of emergent vegetation with a gradually sloping mud bottom between and in them. The left bank was uniformly steep and tree-lined and the river bed dropped off sharply almmost from the water's edge. There were serveral fallen trees in the water along this bank. Toward the middle the river was 30-40 feet deep and the bottom was hard sand and clay with some rocks. (1961 report.) The 1965 report says this station is located near river mile 82. (1965 report.) |
