| This station was divided into two sections. Section A, upstream, was located about 1/2 mile below the mouth of Meshoppen Creek. There was a small island in the center of the station with several riffles at the upstream end and another riffle between the lower end of the island and the right bank of the station. Section B, downstream was located about 1/2 mile above the Pa. route 87 bridge at North Mehoopany. There were no riffles in this section. An extensive quiet water area was present in the form of a large pool in the flood plain on the right bank. Each section was approximately 100 yards long. This station reflects extreme low water conditions. (1969 report.) |
