Remark: When the 2011 ANSP/NAWQA/EPA set of taxa names was assembled, Krammer & Lange-Bertalot 1988 was the concept reference for S. pinnata (65103) and S. minuta (65048) and both were considered synonyms for a single species, S. minuta. Later, English & Potapova (2012) studied this group in detail and determined that S. minuta and S. pinnata are different species. Moreover, most specimens that they examined from the US had been identified by others as S. minuta but instead belong to a new species, S. lacrimula (53014).
